Mesodyne awarded AFWERX TACFI contract to deliver LightCell power generator to AFSOC

The Air Force’s Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) program awarded Mesodyne Inc. with a $1.75M contract matched to a seed round led by Nor’easter Ventures. The combined $3.5M funding will enable Mesodyne to further develop and ultimately to deliver the company’s LightCell™ Power Generator, a lightweight, portable energy source, to Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) A4 for testing and evaluation in the field.

Mesodyne joins Intel Ignite to accelerate the commercialization of the LightCell

Mesodyne Inc. was selected by Intel to participate in their internationally renowned Ignite Program, which provides seed funding to tech start-ups. Launched in 2019, the mission of the program is to fuel a global ecosystem of tech innovation to industry-defining companies, like Mesodyne. Winners participate in a 12-week immersive acceleration program. More than 300 companies applied and only 10 were selected for participation by a panel of over 130 expert judges.

Mesodyne Inc. was selected to participate in the National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) Propel Boston Accelerator. A collaboration program between NSIN, the U.S. Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (SOF AT&L), and Decisive Point, the Propel Boston Accelerator designed to support and accelerate the growth of early-stage ventures with innovative technology solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and special operations community.

Mesodyne Inc. has been awarded a Phase II National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant. The SBIR Program Provides Seed Funding for R&D, which Mesodyne will use to further develop its LightCell™ power generator.
